I was really amazed by a data recovery tool I recently used – it recovered files used to be on Windows from a Linux formatted disk! A really great tool I highly recommend!
The tool R-Studio has Windows, Linux and Mac version where the Windows version is the cheapest, USD $49.99.
I bought Linux version(USD $79.99) as I needed to run it on a Linux host but I guess most people just need the Windows version.
